Flu Season Has Officially Started
Flu season has officially started.
A sample of GPs' surgeries across the country reported an elevated number of cases last week.
The Mercy University Hospital is appealing to the public not to visit sick patients at the hospital if they are experiencing any signs of the flu or winter vomiting bug.
Management say there are no visiting restrictions in place, however the hospital's Infection Control Team are very active in monitoring the situation
Dr. John Cuddihy from the HSE's Health Protection Surveillance Centre says most of us can get over a dose of flu at home:
