Focus Ireland's Annual 'Big Rebel Sleep Out' In Assocaition With Cork's RedFM And Cork City FC Takes Place Tonight

It's hoped the event will raise vital funds to help prevent homelessness here on Leeside

402 adults are experiencing homelessness across Cork city and county, and the charity say they're working to try and deliver housing for those who are at risk of homelessness, or who already find themselves without a roof over their head.

Speaking to RedFM News, Dick White of Focus Ireland says anyone can find themselves without a home:

"Even if you look at the issue of the economy, while  we think our we're all flying and everything is wonderful, people have their jobs and their whatever, it's very easy to slip into homeless. It's very easy to lose your house for no reason other than a landlord needs to get his property back, wants to sell it on, wants to give it to a family member. And then you have the, on the other side of that, the actual supply of houses for people and families to select another home, to get another hole. That's a huge difficulty they have."
