Forensic Investigators At Scene Of Overnight Assault Where Man Was Attacked And Set Alight

The 23-year-old was put in an induced coma on a ventilator to allow doctors to treat severe burns to his head and upper body.
It's understood the assault happened at around 4am this morning, when three men armed with a machete and iron bars broke into a home in the Dunard Esate in Mayfield and began to attack the man.
An investigation has been launched and Gardaí are examining CCTV footage, while the two getaway vehicles believed to have been involved in the incident have been discovered and are being technically examined.
Speaking to RedFM News this neighbour in the Dunard Estate says everyone in the vicinity is stunned:
