Former Debenhams Worker Says KPMG's Decision To Seek Legal Injunctions Is 'Underhanded'
She says it's an attempt to avoid redundancy talks
The liquidators of the fashion retailer are seeking High Court injunctions which would restrain any unlawful action by former emloyees at Debenhams' 11 stores across Ireland.
Last month, 8 former staff entered the Patrick Street store in the City Centre after blockading it for over 150 days, with workers saying they had no choice but to escalate their actions.
While in June there was a stand-off between workers and 2 truck drivers who were attempting to remove stock from the Cork branch.
Mandate trade union, who represent the vast majority of Debenhams workers, say that picketing should remain peaceful, and that they do not support unlawful action in or outside the stores.
However, speaking to RedFM News, former shop steward at Debenhams on Patrick Street Valerie Conlon says KMPG's actions are unfair:
