Former Health Minister Says Ireland Embraced The Smoking Ban

The Health Minister who was responsible for the introduction of the smoking ban in Ireland a decade ago says in the early days he worried about compliance rates. However, Michael Martin says once the ban was introduced the Irish people embraced it. New research shows that up to 4,000 lives have been saved since the introduction of the ban and countries around the world quickly followed Ireland's lead.
