Former journalist Ian Bailey banned from driving for one year

He was convicted of drug driving and possession of cannabis at Bantry District Court today.
64 year old Bailey of Schull, Co Cork had denied a total of four charges relating to a traffic stop in Schull on the 25th of August 2019.
Judge John King dismissed one of the possession charges after he found that Bailey's car had not been legally detained.
Judge King fined Ian Bailey €400 and banned him from driving for 12 months on the drug driving charge and fined him €300 for being in possession of cannabis.
Speaking after the case, Bailey said he would be appealing the conviction.
