Former scoutmaster remanded on bail after being charged with sexually assaulting teenage boy in the City

72 year old David Barry of Montrose, Firgrove Gardens in Bishopstown was charged with assaulting the 15 year old boy on a date between September 1st 2007 and June 30th 2008 in Cork City.
Cork District Court heard that Gardaí had no objection to bail once David Barry signs on at Togher Garda Station every Wednesday.
Judge Olann Kelleher remanded Barry on bail and ordered him to appear in court again on April 8th.
The court heard that David Barry is facing similar charges at Cork Circuit Criminal Court next month.
He will appear at the Circuit Criminal Court in April to face 26 charges of indecent or sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault on dates between 1986 and 2005.
Those charges allege that Barry indecently or sexually assaulted eight boys and attempted to indecently assault a ninth boy at an address in Cork on various occasions.
