French police carry out a number of raids linked to terror suspect

It comes following an attack at the Louvre yesterday by a man who targeted a soldier with a machete

French police have raided a number of addresses linked to a terror suspect who was shot and wounded by a soldier in Paris.

He tried to enter the Louvre museum carrying a machete and backpacks yesterday.

The man has been identified as a 29-year-old Egyptian who arrived in France last month.

President Francois Hollande has praised the security operation that protects citizens in all public spaces.
