The French President has told his Iranian counterpart that he is "deeply concerned" over further weakening of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, warning that there would be almost definite consequences.

Iran is expected to announce today that it has raised its uranium enrichment levels past a limit laid out in the nuclear deal.

Mr Macron's warning comes amid tensions between the gulf nation and the US, a year after President Donald Trump pulled out of the deal and recomposed sanctions.
