Fresh Calls For City's Parking System To Be Upgraded

South Mall has been identified as the city's parking blackspot
City Council figures show that over 12,000 tickets have been issued to motorists so far this year, which amounts to 100 a day...
The Evening Echo reports that parking disc offences are the most common reason for the issuing of fixed-charge penalty notices, with more than 40% of all tickets falling into this category.
The figures have led to fresh calls from city business groups on the local authority to upgrade the city's parking system, which many have described as 'archaic.'
