Fresh calls for student accommodation Leeside
It comes as thousands of students are set to start college in Cork in the coming weeks.
Fresh calls are being made for accommodation for students in Cork before the academic year begins in the coming weeks.
It comes as almost ten thousand students have been offered college course places at UCC and CIT and both colleges are reporting a shortage in housing for incoming students.
A recent report shows that Cork city had the highest rise in rents in the country over the past 12 months with rent prices jumping an average 10%.
The average rent Leeside now stands at around 800 or 900 euro depending on location.
Speaking to RedFM News, UCC Students' Union President Aiden Coffey says there are a number of solutions to tackling the problem.
