Frustration over delay in Cork to US route taking off

Plans for the transatlantic route have been shrouded in uncertainty in recent months.
Management at Cork Airport say they are frustrated with the delays in getting the Cork to US route off the ground.
It emerged today that a 10-day extension has been added to the US Department of Transportation's consultation process on the transatlantic route.
Opposition to the airlink has emerged with some labour unions in the US, US legacy airlines and four US Congressmen who introduced a bill to block the issuing of the permit.
Last month tentative approval for the licence was granted to Norwegian Air International who plan operate the route.
Managing Director at Cork Airport Niall McCarthy told RedFM News they are now calling on businesses in the region to show their support for the service:
