Further flooding expected as two weather alerts kick in
Cork is expected to escape the brunt of the bad weather.
Many of the areas affected by the worst of Storm Desmond will be hit by more bad weather today.
Met Eireann has issued another weather warning - a wind warning is in place for Ireland however Cork is expected to escape the brunt of the bad weather which will hit most parts of Connacht, Donegal, Clare and Kerry.
A status yellow alert is in place for those counties and Clare County Council has requested the help of the army with winds of up to 100 km per hour forecast.
Meanwhile further flooding on the Lee Road and Carrigrohane Road is expected as Cork City Council say the process of releasing excess water from the Inniscarra Dam, caused by Storm Desmond, is continuing.
No flooding is expected in the city centre however emergency services are on standby.
