Further strikes could be on the cards for Dunnes Stores
Dunnes Stores workers say ‘absolutely everything is on the table’ in their dispute with management - including an all-out strike. Over six thousand staff members were out on picket lines across Ireland earlier this month in a dispute over low-hour contracts and working conditions. In Cork, 600 workers went on strike in 13 outlets across the city and county. Mandate Trade Union - which represents about two-thirds of the workforce - says it’s considering legal action over its claims that some workers were dismissed for taking part in the one day strike. The union's General Secretary John Douglas says more strikes are a possibility. Click the PLAY button to hear.
