Gaelscoil Pheig Sayers Pupils In Farranree Release Rap Protesting At Litter Problem

They were reacting to a rise in illegal dumping in the area which has resulted in a rat infestation in nearby Killala Gardens
Residents of Killala Gardens outlined to RedFM News the conditions they are living in and say they are under seige by rats who have eaten through wheelie bins and garden sheds and roam freely up the walls of houses in the area as they nest in front and back gardens..
City Council says it's working on a continuous basis to remove illegal rubbish but locals are calling for harsher penalties for those involved in fly tipping
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Mick Nugent says those who are dumping the rubbish are abusing the system and a crack down is needed on illegal dumping:
