Garda Anti-Corruption Unit investigating possibility the force has been infiltrated by an organised crime gang

It's also carrying out a number of investigations in relation to allegations of drug taking by Gardaí.
Random drug testing is to be introduced for members in approximately six months time.
Head of the newly established Anti-Corruption Unit Chief Superintendent Johanna O'Leary says a small number of complaints have been made so far:
"There are some around drug taking, there's some obviously where, you know, there might be infiltration from organised crime groups, there's other areas as well that we're looking at at this moment in time"
Reporter: "So received at least one complaint that- of infiltration of organised crime in the Guards."
Chief Supt Johanna O'Leary: Not, not as such but a compliant loosely around that, but I don't want to comment any further on."
