Garda Traffic Corps defends criticism of traffic management in Cork

Despite high traffic volumes in Cork, the city's traffic management is monitored on a daily basis
The City's Traffic management system is monitored on a daily basis by Gardai and the City Council.
That's according to one of the members of the Garda Traffic Corps who was reacting to criticisms about the management of traffic in the city during morning and evening rush hour.
Traffic volumes in the city have increased notably since September and motorists are now being urged to consider car pooling, using public transport and staggering commute times.
However speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Inspector Finbarr O'Sullivan of the Garda Traffic Corps has rejected criticisms of poor traffic light sequencing.
