Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Arson Attack On Dunmanway School

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an arson attack that has caused thousands of euro worth of damage at Mary Immaculate College over the weekend. It is believed the perpetrators of the attack set fire to a wheelie-bin at the rear of the school. The fire then spread to an overhead canopy, the heat of which shattered a classroom window. The blaze, which is believed to have been started between 8pm and 9pm on Sunday, was spotted before it got out of control. The scene was preserved for a technical examination, which was carried out yesterday. It's estimated the damage could cost up to €10,000 but its hoped it will be repaired before students return from their mid-term break.
