Gardaí appeal to motorists driving on flooded roads

They say motorists are travelling too fast on roads affected by flooding.
Motorists are going too fast on roads after the flooding.
That's according to Gardaí who are asking people not to use sat nav's or GPS when they are diverted to other roads and to only follow signs instead.
The advice comes as the Council confirms that the Cork - Waterford Road remains closed between Castlemartyr and Killeagh due to flooding.
A further 20mm of rain fell overnight and the Council is continuing to pump out the flood water to lower the groundwater table which is flooding the N25.
The road will remain closed until further notice.
The situation is being assessed daily but the Council is appealing to motorists to obey the directional signs for the alternative routes while the work continues.
Superintendent John Ferris from the Garda Press Office says motorists need to realise that roads are in a bad condition.
