Gardai are investigating the suspected murder of a man in Co. Mayo at the weekend

It's understood the young man was on holiday in the area and had been socialising in the town before returning to the house where he was attacked
21 year old Joseph Deacy from St Albans in England, was found with a significant head injury outside a house at Gornasillagh shortly after 6 am on Saturday morning.
He was taken to Mayo University hospital and later transferred to Beaumont hospital, Dublin where he was pronounced dead on Sunday evening.
Superintendent Tony from Claremorris Garda Station says the investigation is still at a very early stage.
