Gardai arrest man following city centre stabbing

Gardai have arrested a man following a stabbing and robbery in Bishop Lucey Park.
A man was sitting on a bench in the park at 2pm yesterday when he was approached by three men. He was assaulted by one of the men, who then stole a bottle of vodka from his bag.
He was taken to the Mercy Hospital with a stab wound to the leg and was discharged later that evening.
A man in his 40s was arrested and a knife and bottle of vodka were also recovered.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact then at Anglesea Street on 021- 45 22 000.
