Gardaí At Midleton Appealing For Witnesses Following Fatal Car Accident Yesterday Afternoon

Gardaí, the Fire Brigade and the National Ambulance Service attended the scene of the accident near the Two Mile Inn heading to the Kilmountain Crossroads

"The alarm was raised shortly after 2 o'clock when an SUV was discovered on a grass verge of a local road in Churchtown North, off the N25, near Midleton.
The driver, a 70-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the SUV.
He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
His body has been removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The scene was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the Coroner has been notified.
Gardaí at Midleton are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are also appealing to road users who were travelling in the area at the time with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available.
