Gardaí Await Post Mortem Results Following The Death Of A Man In Mahon

The 57 year old father of three was pronounced dead after he collapsed at his home in Avenue de Rennes

 

A post mortem is due to take place on the man's body this afternoon at Cork University Hospital after he died when he collapsed near the top of the stairs of his house on Avenue de Rennes in Mahon. 

Paramedics attended the scene shortly before midnight last night however the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the house was cordoned off as a precautionary measure. 

It's understood the man had suffered brusing to his body and Gardaí are keen to assess whether the bruises are as a result of a fall or an assault.
