Gardai Called To Council Meeting

Gardai were called to Cork City Hall last night after the Council chamber was occupied by more than 100 anti-property tax protestors. The protestors hung banners from the balconies in the chamber and chanted slogans including "NO WAY - WE WON'T PAY". The Lord Mayor of Cork, John Buttimer suspended the meeting after the protestors refused to leave the public gallery. Gardai say that by 10pm, the protestors had left the building peacefully - and no arrests were made.
