Gardai Conduct A Drug/Alcohol Checkpoint As Part Of Operation Rag Week
Garda Press say details cannot be released for operational reasons
Gardai conducted a drug and alcohol checkpoint on College Road last evening as students are celebrating RAG week
RedFM News contacted Garda Press this morning in relation to the checkpoint, the Press Office could not confirm if any arrests were made last night saying details cannot be released for operational reasons. However they confirmed that the checkpoint was part of Operation Rag Week.
It comes after residents in the vicinity of the UCC campus called on Gardai to enforce the public order act during RAG week rather than giving students leeway because it could affect their future careers
Anthony O'Riordan lives on College Road and speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM he asked why a student ID seems to place them above the law of the land
