Gardai have confirmed that a man is assisting them with their inquiries in relation to an incident which occured in Bishopstown earlier this afternoon
At around lunchtime today members of a group known as the Child Protection Awareness Programme surrounded a man outside a coffee shop on the Bishopstown Rd, Bishopstown and accused him of attempting to make contact with an underage girl.
They questioned him at the scene and Gardai were alerted
The man can be seen protesting his innocence in a video the group subsequently posted on social media
Gardai have confirmed to RedFM News that a man is currently at Togher Garda station helping them with their inquiries and a representative from the Child Protection Awareness Programme is also at the station
