Gardaí Confirm They Have Discovered Skeletal Remains In Car Found Off Hugh Coveney Pier In Crosshaven On Wednesday
The submerged car had been discovered by divers on Wednesday and Gardaí were notified
The Garda Water Unit conducted a search operation and were able to extract the car from the water.
The car, a red '98 Toyota is currently undergoing a technical examination.
During the examination, Gardaí discovered skeletal remains.
The remains will be transferred to Cork City Morgue where further examinations will be carried out.
The results of the examination, and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland, are expected to assist in confirming the identity of the remains.
