Gardai Expected To Apologise For Their Handling Of The Kerry Babies Case In 1984

A fresh appeal for information on the murder of Baby John will be made in Caherciveen

Gardai are expected to issue an apology for their handling of the 1984  'Kerry Babies' case at a press conference in the county later.

A renewed appeal for information on the murder of Baby John will be made in Caherciveen this afternoon.

His body was found with several stab wounds on White Strand near the town 33 years ago.

A Tralee woman and her family confessed to his killing but later recanted.

Journalist Anne Lucey says today's appeal for information is also likely to address the conduct of the original investigation.
