Gardai Identify Body Found In The City

Gardai have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was found in a waste chute in an apartment complex in the city. The body was discovered at the North Gate Apartements on Bachelors Quay, on Monday evening by maintenance staff. Gardai have named the dead man as 59 year old Liam Manley, a long term resident of the Simon Community who was originally from Baker's Road in Gurranabraher. Gardai used dental records and DNA samples to confirm the man's identity who had previously lived at a Simon House on Boreenamanna Road. A most mortem examination on Mr Manley's body confirmed that he was the victim of an assault and gardai have since upgraded their inquiry to an unlawful killing.
