Gardaí in appeal for lone raider after robbery on East Cork post office

No one was injured in the raid but staff are said to be shaken.
Gardaí have appealed for information following an armed robbery where staff where held up at a post-office in East Cork this morning.
The lone raider armed with what is believed to have been a sawn-off shotgun entered Little Island Post Office at around 10.30am and made off with a small amount of cash.
What's understood to be the getaway vehicle, a green Ford Focus, was found abandoned at Brooklodge in Glanmire a short time later.
No one was injured in the raid but staff are said to be shaken.
Garda technical experts are due to carry out a forensic examination on the car in a bid to gather DNA and fingerprint evidence and CCTV footage from the area is also being examined.

It's the second such armed raid in the area in the past three weeks and follows a similar type raid at the Applegreen Service Station at Brooklodge in Glanmire on April 18th.
