Gardai Investigate 4th Street Death In Cork This Year

The man in his 20's was found in an unresponsive state in a doorway in the city centre yesterday
Gardai hope a post-mortem examination later today will establish the exact cause of death of a man in his late 20s who was found dead on a city centre street yesterday
Gardai suspect the man, who is originally from the Midlands and was homeless, may have died from a drugs overdose.
The man was found in an unresponsive state in a doorway on Lower Oliver Plunkett Street by gardai at around 1.30pm yesterday
Today's post mortem will confirm the exact cause of the man’s death with a view to preparing a file for an inquest at Cork City Coroner’s Court.
His death brings to four the number of people who have died on the streets of Cork this year and follows the death of a 47 year old Polish man who was found dead in a doorway, also on Lower Oliver Plunkett St, early on June 8th.
