Gardaí investigating city shooting recover firearm

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí investigating the shooting of a young woman on the northside of the city over the weekend have recovered a handgun.
Ciara Sheehan was visiting her boyfriend at his house in Hollywood Estate when a shot was fired through a downstairs window of the house at around 1.15am on Sunday morning.
She sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was rushed to Cork University Hospital where her condition is described as serious but no longer life threatening.
It's understood the 21-year-old was an innocent victim in the attack which is believed to be linked to an ongoing feud between two members of different families.
Gardaí carried out searches at wasteland in the Shanakiel area this morning and have confirmed that an automatic pistol, which they believe was used in the attack, has been recovered.
Gardaí are still questioning a man and a woman in connection with the incident and are carrying out door-to-door inquiries as part of their investigation.
