Gardaí Investigating Event Which Led To Resignation Of Dara Calleary As Minister For Agriculture

Opposition parties are calling for the Dáil to be recalled after the Oireachtas Golf Society dinner breached public health guidelines.
Cork Senator Jerry Buttimer who also attended the dinner has resigned as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Seanad and Tanáiste Leo Varadkar has confirmed that he has also removed the party whip from him and two other Fine Gael senators who attended the event - Paddy Burke and John Cummins.
Andrew Lowth has this report for RedFM News:
Oireachtas members have been apologising for attending the dinner in what's being described as an "error in judgement".
In a statement issued on Twitter this morning Cork Senator Jerry Buttimer says he believed his presence at the event has compromised the Government and again apologised unreservedly for his actions.
