Gardaí issued appeal following Glanmire raid

The incident took place at a filling station last night.

Gardai have issued an appeal for information after an armed raid on a filling station in the Glanmire area last night

The robbery happened at the Apple Green service station at Brooklodge at 7.40pm, when a lone raider entered the premises, calmly walked up to a staff member
at a service till, handed over a bag and produced what appeared to be a sawn off shotgun, and ordered him to fill it with cash.

The raider took the money, walked out of the filling station and got into a wine coloured Fiat Punto with a 98 D registration plate drove off in the direction of Knockraha.

The car was later found intact, north of Midelton and is currently being forensically examined.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mayfield Garda on (021) 4558510.
