Gardai Launch National Slow Down Day
117 people have died on Irish roads so far this year with 11 of those fatalities on Cork roads
Almost 96-thousand motorists were caught speeding on Irish roads in the first eight months of this year.
In an effort to reduce the number of speed related collisions and deaths, Gardaí have started National Slow Down Day.
From seven o'clock this morning, until seven o'clock tomorrow, there'll be an increased Garda presence on the roads.
