Gardai probe Rathpeacon shooting
Gardaí have launched a full investigation after a number of shots were fired at a house in Rathpeacon overnight.
RedFM News has learned that there were children in the house at the time.
Gardaí say the incident happened at around 1 o'clock this morning when a firearm was discharged and a number of shots were fired at a house in Rathpeacon.
A family including young children were in the house at the time but no injuries were sustained and they have since been moved from the house.
RedFM News has learned that because a number of shots were fired a full ballistic examination will have to take place.
A forensic examination is also being carried out this morning.
It's understood no arrests have yet been made and gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 1 and 2am this morning to contact them at Mayfield Garda Station
