Gardai Probing The Death Of Frankie Dunne May Be Investigating A Link Between The Case And A Robbery

The body of 64 year-old Frankie Dunne was found in the grounds of a derelict house after Christmas


Gardai investigating the murder of Frankie Dunne, whose body was found at a derelict house over Christmas, may be investigating a link between the case and a robbery in which €1,000 in cash was stolen.

64 year old Frankie Dunne from Churchfield had been living in supported accommodation operated by Cork Simon when his partially dismembered body was found on December 28th on the grounds of a house on the Boreenmanna Road.

Gardai probing his brutal murder are liasing with Interpol in relation to a man who travelled to Eastern Europe shortly after Frankie's body was discovered however they are anxious to stress that the man is wanted as a potential witness 

24 hours after Frankie's body was found, Gardai were called to investigate a break in where this man was working
During a search of the premises Gardai discovered clothing on the property which are currently being forensically examined 

Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr John Sheehan says the brutality of this murder shocked locals
