Gardaí Recover Firearm In Car Following Fatal Assault Of Man In Ballincollig

A handgun and a machete have been recovered from the burnt out BMW car that was abandoned by the attackers
Gardaí have recovered a firearm in a car following the fatal assault of a man in Ballincollig.
Mickel-eye Vilk was murdered at around 3am yesterday morning when 3 armed men entered his home in the Maglin area and violently assaulted him.
His partner was also seriously injured in the attack, suffering serious injuries to her hand and several other injuries. She is currently recovering from the assault at Cork University Hospital.
A handgun and a machete have been recovered from the burnt out BMW car that was abandoned by the attackers.
The scene is still currently being preserved and gardaí are continuing to carry out house to house enquiries.
