Gardaí Release Two Men Without Charge After Fermoy Drug Seizure

Gardai are to prepare a file for the DPP after yesterday releasing without charge two men arrested following a €20,000 drugs seizure in North Cork.
Gardai from Fermoy found the cannabis herb when they searched a car at a routine checkpoint at a slip road off the N8 just outside Fermoy on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old and 30-year-old male occupants of the car, both from Fermoy, were arrested under drugs trafficking legislation and taken to Fermoy Garda Station for questioning.
Detectives carried out a series of follow up searches at a number of houses in the Fermoy area yesterday morning and the men were questioned until around 3pm yesterday.
They were both released without charge and gardai will now prepare a file on both men for the DPP.
