Gardaí renew appeal for information on murdered pensioner

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information into the murder of a pensioner on the northside of the city seven years ago. 73-year-old Gus Hornibrook of Templeacre Avenue in Gurranabraher was killed at his home on the 5th of November 2007. His body was found in a downstairs room the following day. He had been bound by his attackers. He was last seen at 9.30pm at his home, minutes after leaving Singleton’s shop on Gurranabraher Road. Nobody has ever been arrested in connection with the killing His death is the subject of a cold case review and an inquest into his death was held this morning.
