Gardaí Say Motorbikes Make Up Just 1.4% Of Vehicles In Ireland But Over 1-In-10 Road Deaths Last Year

They have relaunched the motorcycle pilot safety programme: BikeSafe.
It will start with 100 riders, before potentially rolling out nationwide in September.
The HSE's Clinical Lead for Trauma Services, Keith Synnott, says everyone with a motorbike should consider it:
"The opportunity to learn something that will make you safe, to give you the potential to anticipate problems, to try and avoid these injuries. Bikers often don't think about their injury, they think about their bike, but still and all, they don't want to have any accidents, so this is a great initiative to give us the opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of these guys."
