Gardai To Mount Checkpoints Over The Bank Holiday
26 passengers have been killed in road crashes so far this year. Gardai are reminding all drivers that they have a responsibility to ensure that everyone in their vehicle is wearing a seat belt. Checkpoints will be set up around the city and county between now and Tuesday morning for the October bank holiday weekend. Here in Cork - 13 lives have been lost on the roads since the start of the year - that's down from 17 in 2012.
