Gardai To Tackle Smartphone Theft
Gardai are launching a new campaign today to tackle the rise in smartphone theft. It comes as new research shows that over 40 smartphones were stolen in Ireland every day last year. As part of the new leaflet campaign gardai are appealing to people to take a note of their device's I-M-E-I number. That number is found on the inside of every phone and can be used to deactivate it remotely and keep their personal data safe.
