Gardaí urging motorists to take care on the roads this Bank Holiday weekend

66 people have been killed or seriously injured in crashes over the May bank holiday in the last five years
Inspector Ian O'Callaghan from the Cork West Policing Unit is appealing to drivers not to use their phone while behind the wheel:
"9% of motorists admit to driving and talking on a handheld mobile phone and 9% of motorists regularly check mobile phone apps while behind the wheel. This is extremely dangerous to both yourself, your passengers and other road users, and we will appeal to listeners. If you are in such a habit of using the mobile device to please stop doing so."
