Glanmire residents react to flood relief scheme progress
Engineers who have been working on the €7 million project expect to put it on display in the Autumn.
Flood hit residents on the northside of the city have been reacting to reports that the Glanmire Flood Relief scheme could be under construction by next Spring and say "they'll believe it when they see it".
Engineers who have been working on the €7 million project say they're expecting to put it on public display in the Autumn.
The works will cover the area along the Glashaboy River from Sallybrook down to the estuary at Glanmire village, 300 meters of defence walls will be installed at Hazelwood and a bridge is to be built between the Hazelwood and Crestfield shopping centres which were badly hit by floods.
Residents in Meadowbrook estate in Glanmire were left devastated in 2012 and speaking to RedFM News local resident Anne Walsh says she's hopeful works will come to fruition:
