A gofundme page has been launched by the family of a Corkman living in US who's facing deportation after having spent almost 10 years working to secure citizenship in the country
Keith Byrne from Fermoy who's living in the US with his wife and three children was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers on Wednesday last
He was previously convicted in Ireland on a minor drugs possession charge, which his family believe may be the reason his applications to remain in the country have been denied.
The 37-year-old, who's the owner of a painting business in the US, is now being held in a cell in Pike County in Pennsylvania.
Speaking to RedFM News, Keith's sister Melinda says the arrest has come as a shock to the whole family:
