Government activates its Humanitarian Assistance Fund in the wake of the Donegal floods

The fund provides money for food, clothes and personal goods

The government says the amount flood victims receive will depend on how badly their house is damaged and their ability to meet the costs.

The Department of Social Protection says it will prioritise those most in need and those with losses which are not covered by insurance.
