Government To Consider Appointing Independent Expert To Review Mother and Baby Homes Survivors' Testimony

The Irish Times reports the expert would examine common experiences within the institutions like forced adoptions

The proposals follow growing anger over the refusal of commission members to be questioned about their report before an Oireachtas committee.

David Kinsella, who was born at St Patrick's mother and baby home on Dublin's Navan Road, says survivors want answers:

"The majority of survivors, particularly mothers, a lot of them don't have the time, a lot of them are frail, ill and ageing. It's a time limited situation. I've been to hell and back facing this whole challenge and campaign for nearly two decades. I've dedicated my life to it and for the commission to reject the fact that they've been called before the Oireachtas is a total disaster."
