Government to refine mica redress scheme

The Taoiseach says the Government will refine and improve the current scheme for homeowners affected by the mica controversy.
Thousands of people are expected at a protest in Dublin later calling for 100% redress for pyrite and mica affected homeowners in the west and north-west.
The homeowners say the current Government redress scheme remains unaffordable for many families.
Speaking on his way into Cabinet, Micheál Martin said substantive changes will be made.
"We don't want homeowners to be significantly disadvantaged. We want to help them to get their houses restored to what they had anticipated when they bought their houses originally.
"The scheme that's there will be a very substantive scheme. We will work thought his with the mica action group, and the minister is going to work with them."
