Government To Tackle Handling Charges
There's going to be a crack down on hefty handling charges for things like airline tickets. A new EU directive is due to be written into Irish law at the end of this year. It's designed to make sure extra fees reflect the real cost of processing card transactions. The move aims to stop big companies using the charges as ways to get more cash out of the customer.
